BETTER ROTORS FOR BETTER BRAKING PERFORMANCE
Developed to work specifically with our Dominion platform, the D-Series rotor offers supreme braking performance while ensuring a vibration and noise free experience in the saddle.
Great brakes require equally great rotors for optimum performance
D SERIES ROTOR OVERVIEW
Better braking performance requires the optimization of the entire braking system. As such, Hayes engineering dedicated meticulous attention to every detail of the rotor to ensure that not only was it a fantastic component on its own, but that it was developed to perform in perfect unison with the Dominion braking platform.
No element was overlooked in developing this sophisticated component. Despite its simple outward appearance, the D Series Rotor is packed with technology and features that render it not only the perfect companion for the Dominion brakes, but a stand-alone performer in the field of discs in general. Consistent performance, fantastic heat dissipation qualities, extremely silent and vibration free this rotor is the ticket to the amazing show the Dominion brakes are capable of putting on.
“It’s the contact that counts“
Developed to work specifically with our brake platforms, Our rotors offer superior braking performance without any annoying howls or vibrations.
MRC (Modal Resonance Cancelation) - Physics, not Fashion
The D-Series rotos are designed with a specific shape and form, determined by physics and not fashion. The particular look of the disc derives from FEA-optimized modal shapes cut into the rotor which are capable of canceling out noise and vibration. Such shapes are not chosen by happenstance but rather as the result of innumerable hours of research and development to ensure that the frequencies are perfect and compatibility is optimized…in turn optimizing your time in the saddle.
Material Optimization
The D-Series Rotors have a 1.95mm material thickness which was chosen after a thorough development process which sought to find the perfect relationship between enhanced heat dissipation and structural integrity. Too thick and the disc represents unnecessary weight. Too thin and several potential compromises in structural integrity come into play. The 1.95mm is, as per our research, the sweet spot that allows great heat dissipation, optimized structural integrity and lighter weight.
Surface Material Optimization for Fast Burnishing
The D-Series Rotor was developed to become the closest thing to plug and play available in terms of the time and effort required between building the disc onto the wheel and having optimum performance. A specific range of surface treatments ensure a comparatively short time and low effort required to get the disc burnished to the point of top performance. A simple process made simpler by material engineering translates into less preparatory time invested into getting the best performance out of this specific component.
Torque Spikes? No Problem
Developing a top end rotor for mtb use requires not only considering power and control for scrubbing speed but also designing a product built to withstand and perform in all scenarios. The Hayes engineering department designed the D-Series Rotor in a way to withstand even the harshest spikes in torque application as well as reverse torque application scenarios. Whether you are a trials rider or simply navigating the trail and hopping up rocks or around a tight corner you need not worry about any performance issues as the D Series rotor is engineered to deliver.
One Shape, All Sizes
While the rotor can be only round, the D-Series Rotor comes in any size your riding style or needs require. From 160 to 220 and everything in-between, there is a quality Hayes rotor solution for you.
