Loudenvielle, France – The second round of the 2025 UCI Downhill World Cup saw Continental Atherton Racing emerge as a serious force in the new season. From veteran leadership to breakthrough performances, the team showed what happens when raw talent meets elite-level support—and brakes that won’t back down.
Luke Wayman Cracks the Elite Top 10
Only two races into his Elite career, Luke Wayman is already leaving a mark. After graduating from Juniors in 2024 and joining the Continental Atherton Racing squad, the 18-year-old Kiwi rider powered his Atherton A.200.G to a remarkable 10th place finish in Loudenvielle—his best result to date.
“I didn’t expect a top 10 result at all,” said Luke. “I was thinking maybe under 25th would be a solid goal… so really, really stoked.”
Familiar with the track from his junior years (including a podium here in 2024), Luke was able to lean into the lines and terrain with confidence. Supported by the same team that helped guide World Champion Charlie Hatton, and backed by the Hayes Dominion A4 brakes he trusts on the steepest pitches, Luke rode like a veteran.
“The track reminded me a lot of home—dusty, rough, blown out. And having Charlie around as a mentor helped me dial things in fast.”
The Power to Push Harder
Racing at this level requires absolute control and confidence—especially when riding among the likes of Danny Hart and Troy Brosnan. That’s why Continental Atherton Racing runs Hayes Dominion A4 brakes exclusively across their fleet. With near-zero dead stroke, featherlight lever feel, and unstoppable modulation, the Dominion A4 is built for athletes who ride the edge.
Luke, Elise, Charlie, and George all count on Dominion’s consistency to hold lines, scrub speed late, and attack relentlessly.
“On a track like Loudenvielle, your hands take a beating. The Dominion A4s just keep working—quiet, smooth, powerful. I couldn’t ask for more,” Luke noted.
