Best Brakes, Best Bike Shops. - A Series
There are bike shops… and then there are the shops that shape how a local riding scene feels. The ones with the right recommendations, the right builds, the right service approach—and a curated selection that tells you immediately: these people ride, they care, and they know what works. That’s exactly why we created Best Brakes x Best Bike Shops, a new Hayes campaign built around a simple idea: when a shop chooses the best, everybody wins.
Best Brakes, Best Shops.
Why this series exists:
Hayes Dominion has earned its place as one of the most confidence-inspiring brakes in mountain biking—powerful, consistent, and built to deliver the same lever feel and control, lap after lap. But this series isn’t only about what Dominion does out on the trail. It’s also about what Dominion does behind the counter…because for shops, the best product isn’t just the one that performs the best on paper. It’s the product that:
  • Makes riders instantly happier the moment they roll out of the parking lot
  • Reduces headaches in the service department with reliable, low-hassle performance
  • Helps the shop build reputation through a more premium, better-curated offering
Dominion checks all three boxes…and that’s what Best Brakes x Best Bike Shops is here to spotlight.

Dominion on the trail: better braking, better riding
Ask any rider what “great brakes” feel like and you’ll hear the same themes: control, confidence, consistency. Dominion is built to make riding better for every rider—whether they’re chasing speed, riding big terrain, or just trying to feel more comfortable and in control. When braking feels predictable and powerful, riders carry more confidence into turns, into steeps, and into rough sections. It changes how you ride. Not louder. Not flashier. Just better—every single ride.

Dominion in the shop: simpler, more reliable, more consistent
From a shop perspective, a brake is only “premium” if it stays that way after weeks and months of real-world riding. Dominion has become a go-to because it’s designed to be:
  • Reliable and consistent, so riders come back talking about performance…not problems
  • Low hassle, so service departments spend less time chasing tiny inconsistencies
  • High performance, so it sells itself once a rider feels it
The result is simple: Dominion makes life easier for shops, while making riders more stoked. That’s the sweet spot.

The curated-shop effect: a product that elevates the whole experience
The best shops don’t try to carry everything. They carry what they believe in. That’s part of what makes them feel refined—almost like a great café, record store, or chef’s counter. The product selection has a point of view. Dominion is a tool for that kind of shop. It’s an easy “yes” when a customer asks, “What would you put on your own bike?” And when a shop installs Dominion on a build, it sends a message: this shop chooses performance, durability, and confidence—without compromise. That’s not just a brake sale. That’s brand-building for the shop.

Episode 1: THE BIKE VILLAGE, Spain
THE BIKE VILLAGE is exactly the kind of partner we designed this series for: experienced, intentional, and deeply connected to their community. Filming the pilot with them wasn’t just about capturing great riding footage and clean installs. It was about telling the story of what happens when a shop’s standards are high and the product matches those standards. This is the first chapter of something we plan to build across the riding world.
